Who We Are

The Rock Project is the UK’s premier school of rock and pop and was founded in Denbigh, North Wales in October 2005. Since then, The Rock Project has expanded to almost 50 schools, teaching thousands of young people nationwide.

The Rock Project now arrives in Buckinghamshire, with 4 new schools opening in January 2017. The sessions will be run by Mark Pattinson, a music graduate who has returned to his natural environment after a career in business management. Assisting Mark will be an energetic team of tutors with the same love of music and a will to share their passion with youngsters, whatever their level of musical skill or experience.

Mark says: – “I first heard of The Rock Project through posts on social media and was immediately attracted by the fact that all the youngsters, from the very start, would play as a band ! So, as well as receiving tuition on their chosen instrument, they very quickly find themselves at the centre of something very creative, with new friends and increased confidence all adding to the experience! It struck me that this was a fantastic way of learning to play the guitar, drums, or learning to sing. I have long-believed that even a modest ability to play an instrument is liking having a new language, but much more fun along the way! Visiting other schools and sessions around the country and seeing how much the youngsters have achieved has given me all the motivation I need to bring The Rock Project to Buckinghamshire and discover the potential that exists across the county”
